Bonhams wine and whisky sales reach £16 million in 2019

Auction house Bonhams made £16 million (US$21.3 million) on fine wine and whisky sales last year. Among this year’s wine auction highlights were a 12 bottle case of Romanée-Conti 1988, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, which sold in London in March for £241,369.37, and a private collection of wines from Domaine de la Romanée-Conti sold in its entirety for more than £225,000 in May. A new book called In Vino Veritas “is the recreation of the definite Christmas present for anyone who loved wine when I was in my 20s,” according to wine writer Steven Spurrier.
