Portman Group under fire after upholding complaints against beers

UK drinks regulator the Portman Group has upheld complaints against three breweries, leading to criticism from the industry that it has caused “significant damage” to breweries with “good ethics”. The Portman Group recently issued rulings on products made by Bristol’s Lost and Grounded, Warwickshire’s Purity Brewing and United Dutch Breweries. Vinitaly postponed to June

The organisers of the leading Italian wine show, Vinitaly, have announced the 2020 edition will be postponed until June. Originally scheduled for 19-22 April, organisers Veronafiere announced today (3 March) that it was postponing the show as well the various  shows revolving around Vinitaly such as the International Wine Academy and Vinitaly and the City, until June. The revised dates for the show are 14-17 June. Former Made in Chelsea star Spencer Matthews, the founder of low ABV spirit brand The Clean Liquor Co, has raised US$2 million from Lightspeed Venture Partners. AB InBev buys Argentine winery Dante Robino

Argentine brewery Quilmes, which is owned by AB InBev, has acquired the Dante Robino winery with plans to double the producer’s share of the domestic market in two years. According to reports from Argentine media, the sale was agreed on 17 February. The sale includes the winery’s 5ha estate and vineyards in the Perdriel area of Luján de Cuyo.
