Job Description

Overproof is looking for a marketing expert to strengthen our commercial team. Rapidly expanding its market presence, Overproof is in the process of operationalizing its marketing activity, go-to market strategy and sales structure. The Marketing Manager fulfills a crucial role within this high-growth environment. You are a person who thrives in a start-up company culture, and does not shy away from a challenge.

In our small but growing team, this position will need to attend to multiple tasks between the fields of marketing, advertising and sales. The person to fulfill this role needs to be comfortable in an often undefined, ambiguous environment and a rapidly changing outlook of tasks at hand.

You are flexible in your approach to challenges and work at hand, are results-oriented, and performance focused. You can multi-task and divide your attention across multiple simultaneous deliverables if need be. You are a strong team player.

Responsibilities & Qualifications


On a day-to-day basis, you will be involved in a multitude of marketing activities, ranging from brand building and activation, marketing planning and execution, customer onboarding and customer success management, and (social) media management. You are comfortable wearing different hats, and are excited to help build a company from the ground up. Responsibilities include:

  • Contributing to the day-to-day maintenance and experience of Overproof’s web content and navigation, by populating, maintaining, and designing webpages
  • Working with retailers, vendors, and other stakeholders on advertising, marketing and sales activities, PR, events, promotions, etc.
  • Interacting and collaborating with consultants and contractors as needed within the scope and activities of marketing and sales
  • Communicating the Overproof brand, proposition, activities and events via marketing and sales materials, including pitch decks, brochures, newsletters, digital media, social media, websites and other informational collateral, and/or coordinating and contributing to the in-house production of materials as identified
  • Developing proactive marketing implementation approaches and tactics for Overproof initiatives and the company’s product suite
  • Ensuring marketing, advertising and sales materials meet quality standards, brand guidelines, budget parameters and deadlines


  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Business or Media Management or a related field
  • Three or more years of progressively responsible work experience in a relevant position
  • Experience in or knowledge of brand management
  • Hands-on experience in marketing and advertising development
  • Knowledge of or experience in B-to-B marketing and sales environments
  • Experience in or affinity with the beverage alcohol industry
  • Experience in or knowledge of agency, vendor and third-party provider management
  • Hands-on experience in website, content and social media management


  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Knowledge graphic design software preferred
  • Ability to write presentation and web content, press releases, brochures, and other informational and content materials using original or innovative techniques or style
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in an efficient, effective and timely manner
  • Ability to use critical thinking skills to arrive at solutions and suggest improvements to processes, projects or protocols
  • Organized and detail-oriented, with proven project management skills
  • Data-savvy and analytical: able to read and analyze customer and market data in order to support decision making processes
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to effectively present information to the Overproof leadership team, coworkers, partners, prospects, customers, the media, and other external groups
