Job Description

Overproof is seeking a Data Analyst who is looking for an opportunity to work with an early stage start up that is creating a product to level the playing field in the beverage alcohol industry through democratizing data.

This position will initially be offered as a 3-month project assignment, and will be focused on helping Overproof train a machine learning and natural language system to understand and categorize terms found in a document.

Your primary focus will be applying data mining techniques, doing statistical analysis, and building high quality prediction systems integrated with our products, including:

Evaluating third party sources of information.
Creating proprietary data collection processes.
Processing, cleaning and verifying data.
Data mining.
Machine learning and predictive analytics systems.
Developing online and report based communication tools.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Required:

Understanding of and experience in machine learning techniques.
Experience in common data science toolkits.
Experience in visual analytics and visualization tools.
Proficiency in using query languages such as SQL.
Some experience with NoSQL databases, such as MongoDB.
Great communication skills.
A passion for purpose driven start-ups who want to level playing fields through democratizing data.
