FSTEC 2021: Conference Overview

In 2021, FSTEC will be a three-day event that runs from September 12th – 14th and is held at the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine, Texas. The conference provides participants with the opportunity to sample the latest gadgets, attend sessions and speeches by industry leaders, network, and share solutions and ideas. In total, there will be three General Sessions and 24 Innovation Forums where you can learn about data-driven insights and get access to the expert knowledge you need to create a successful business plan.   

The FSTEC conference is hosted by Winsight, which is a B2B company that provides information services to the restaurant industry. They work with every facet of the food and beverage consumer market, including grocery stores, convenience stores, noncommercial foodservice, and restaurants. They organize a variety of media events and tradeshows while also providing valuable data and advisory services throughout the foodservice industry.

The Agenda for FSTEC 2021

Sunday, September 12th

On Sunday, September 12th, the conference will open with a Marketplace Sponsor setup in Ballroom E-F that will run from 8 am to 4 pm. The first Innovation Forum will begin at 3 pm with a speech by Melisssa Wilson, Principal of Technomic. Her forum will focus on how COVID-19 has impacted the industry and what to expect moving forward. Next, a panel consisting of Jonathan Maze, Editor-in-Chief of Restaurant Business, Aaron Noveshen, CEO of Starbird and Founder of The Culinary Edge, Atul Sood, Chief Business Officer of Kitchen United, and James Walker, Senior Vice President of Restaurant’s Nathan’s Famous, will discuss ghost kitchens and ways restaurants can capitalize on this innovation. At 5 pm, participants will be welcomed to the dinner and reception.

Monday, September 13th

Monday will begin with a breakfast that runs from 7:30 am to 8:30 am and will provide attendees with an excellent networking opportunity. Innovation forums will begin at 8:45 and provide guests with six different options to choose from, including:

From 3 to 3:30 pm there will be another networking break before three general sessions that will cover how technology can be used to improve hiring processes, how restaurants can take full advantage of data and insights, and the future of on-premise services. 

Following the general sessions, attendees are invited to head over to the Texan Station Sports Bar and Grill for dinner and drinks as part of the IFTBA’s Celebration of Technology. 

Tuesday, September 14th

There will be another networking breakfast at 8 am followed by the last two general sessions that will address the topics “Artificial Intelligence: Are Humans in Jeopardy” and “How CMOs use Tech Today.”
